National Consumer Reference Group
Feb 7th, 2012 by admin
The Consumer Reference Group (CRG) membership will be comprised of members with a diverse range of experience, skills, knowledge and backgrounds. In providing their advice, CRG members will demonstrate personal commitment to a shared vision leading to improved quality of life, social justice and inclusion for people with mental illness in Australia; and provide their unique expertise on matters of significance to mental health consumers in Australia.
This is an exciting opportunity for mental health consumers (defined here as persons with a lived experience of mental health problems/ illness) to participate in shaping the future of government policy by becoming part of the new CRG. NSW CAG encourages NSW consumers who are interested to apply as soon as possible to ensure that the views of NSW consumers are represented at a national level.
The Department of Health and Ageing will convene a selection panel comprised of consumer, non-government and government representatives to select the Consumer Reference Group.
Applicants are invited to submit an expression of interest until 4pm Monday 20th February 2012. Information on how to apply online is available on the department’s Internet site at www.health.gov.au/mentalhealth For further information, please call the minister’s office on 02 6277 7280 Mental health consumers interested in applying can download the Application Kit CRG EOI kit (RTF 425 KB) or the PDF version (115 KB).
